Your visit to Boulderstation
Never bouldered before? No problem! You don't need any experience or a climbing partner. We'll explain everything to you at the front desk and you can get started right away. Would you prefer a bit more guidance? Then you can also get a Boulder Intro. This is also possible if you want to climb with a group or family.
During your first visit to Boulderstation, we ask you to register at our reception. You must also agree to our GDPR and terms and conditions.
Important: Are you under 18? Then we first need permission from your parent(s) or guardian. We can easily arrange this via email.
Tips for your first time bouldering:
Be sure to read the house rules.
Be sure to also read the rules for safe and responsible bouldering.
Wear comfortable sportswear.
Climbing shoes are mandatory (you can rent them from us).
Please note that we don't accept cash. Payments can be made by debit or credit card.
For adults, there are weekly Mobility, Strength & Conditioning, and Climb with Coach classes available. With a Boulder & Training subscription, you can participate in these classes unlimitedly. In addition to taking lessons, you can also go bouldering as often as you like with this subscription. See all prices and subscriptions here.
Through the booking system, you determine each week which classes you will attend. You can also try it out with a one-month Boulder & Training pass, or join a one-off (trial) lesson for just €5 (plus entry fees).
Our junior lessons are offered in different age groups (see the timetable here). Children can first take 2 trial lessons with us. For this, we have a special drop-in lesson on Wednesday afternoons. During this lesson, attention is also given to the (safety) rules. After that (or if a child is already familiar with bouldering and the rules), they can join a regular lesson. Registration for a trial lesson can be done via email.
During the lessons, children can participate from the age of 5. The minimum age to go bouldering is 6 years, and until the age of 12, this must always be under the supervision of an adult.
Even if you already have experience with climbing, we ask you to register at Boulderstation through our online membership administration system.
By registering, you agree to our house rules, safety instructions, and terms and conditions.
After your registration, you will receive a confirmation by email. Good to know: this registration is only required once.
Once you are registered, you do not need to do this again the next times.
The minimum age for bouldering at Boulderstation is 6 years. This limit is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all climbers.
- Children under the age of 12 may only boulder under the supervision of an adult.
- From the age of 12, children are allowed to climb independently, provided they adhere to the safety rules.
Does your child want to join a lesson? They can start from the age of 5 with our special bouldering lessons for children.
Your access entitles you to one climbing session, and within that session, you can decide how long you stay. So feel free to take your time to challenge yourself, take breaks, and have fun.
If you have booked an Intro Lesson, you're free to stay and keep climbing at your own pace after the lesson is over.
We advise you to wear comfortable (sports) clothing that does not restrict movement. If you are afraid of scrapes from the rough climbing wall, wear long trousers. Wearing climbing shoes is mandatory. You can rent and buy shoes from us as well. Climbing without a shirt is not allowed.

Yes, you can get a discount as a student, These are the attractive discounts:
- Under 18 years old? You pay the junior rate.
- 18 to 25 years old? You get a discount on the regular rate.
- Member of a student association with which we have agreements? Ask your association about the applicable discount scheme.
- In possession of a 'Study in Enschede' card? Then you will receive a 10% discount on your entry.
- Every third Friday of the month is Students Day: you receive no less than 35% off your entry ticket!
Are you coming with a group? Then we offer special group discounts. Ideal for school classes, student groups, or groups of friends. Please contact us for the terms and to request a group visit.
Yes, there are showers available at Boulderstation. The showers are located on the same floor as the changing rooms. They are private showers. We also offer free towels for use here!
Dogs are generally welcome in our hall, provided they are calm, on a lead, and you keep your dog with you. Please be aware that there may also be other dogs present at times.
Attention: Dogs are not allowed on the crash mats to ensure safety and hygiene.
Yes, there are free lockers available at Boulderstation. The lockers are located on the same floor as the changing rooms.
Certainly! There is more than enough free parking available on the Boulderstation premises.
Unfortunately, the building is not wheelchair accessible. The bouldering hall is on the 2nd floor and can only be accessed via the stairs.
Boulderstation has a large fully equipped gym (The Performance Station). Customers of Boulderstation can freely use this training space.
During training hours of TalentNed, the space CANNOT be used. TalentNed usually trains in the morning hours. The training days and times are posted on the board by the gym.
During Boulderstation lessons, participants have priority for the use of the space. Ask the trainer if you can make use of (a part of) the training area.
Every Friday, we reset the boulders on one or more wall sections. This keeps the offerings fresh and challenging – there is always something new to try for every level!
Attention: On Thursday evening, we will start removing the old boulders. This may temporarily cause some noise or congestion in the relevant section of the hall. In the Toplogger app, you can see exactly which boulders are being removed and which walls are being worked on.
At the end of each day, we collect any lost items and store them at our lost & found for up to 2 months. Feel free to ask at the reception if you've lost something.
Certainly! We sell climbing shoes from Mad Rock. Since Mad Rock Europe is located at the same address, we have the entire Mad Rock collection available. Our bar staff are ready to assist you with the purchase of your shoes. Do you have a specific question about Mad Rock products or would you like more detailed advice? Then you can go to info@boulderstationenschede.nl to make an appointment (only during office hours or on Saturday morning) with one of the Mad Rock sales representatives.
Is the toe rubber of your shoes worn out? Then you can hand them in to have them re-soled. This is done at SoEscalade (in Enschede). Write your name, phone number and the choice of rubber (see www.soescalade.nl of the poster in the hall) on a note and put it in your shoes. Transfer the amount to the bank account of SoEscalade or pay via the QR code that is on the poster in the hall. Then hand in your shoes at the bar. As soon as they are ready (3-5 days), you will receive a message. You can then collect them at the bar.

Yes, we rent out crash pads so you can boulder safely outdoors. A regular (double) pad costs €8 per day or €40 for a week. A large (triple) pad costs €10 per day and €50 per week. If you pick up the pad(s) a day in advance, you won't be charged for that day.
Membership and Training
With a Boulder Subscription, you can boulder with us unlimited. If you also want to take lessons, you can opt for a Boulder & Training Subscription. With this subscription, you can take unlimited lessons and boulder. We offer various Mobility, Strength & Conditioning, and Climb with Coach lessons weekly. Check the lesson schedule here.
A one-off monthly ticket is valid for 1 month. If you take out a one-off subscription, it will not be automatically renewed afterwards..
A monthly subscription is taken out for a minimum of 3 months. It is automatically renewed for 1 month on the day of subscription. You can cancel up to 10 days before this renewal date..
Members can enter every day from 9:00 AM through our front door using the QR code in the Sportivity app. This allows you to scan your access and open the door yourself.
You are a member if you have a subscription, punch card, or Newbie Card. In that case, you also have a valid Boulderstation card and access to the members' entrance.
If you have taken out a Boulder & Training subscription, you will receive an email invitation to activate your account in the Sportivity app.
Download the app, activate your account, and sign up immediately for the classes you want to attend.
Get a Abo Boulder & Training membership to participate in the weekly training sessions.
Then you will receive an invitation to activate your member app.
Then book your training via the Members App under 'Booking' and reserve your spot for the training you want to participate in that week.
Then start with your training, have fun and good luck!
Would you like to join a class once without immediately taking out a subscription? You can! At the bar, you can purchase a one-off lesson for €5 (excluding entry). 📌 Please register preferably a day in advance so we can reserve your spot. You can sign up via: info@boulderstationenschede.nl
Children can attend a trial lesson once or twice to get acquainted with bouldering. The same applies here: please register in advance via email.
From 3 people, you can book a private bouldering session with our trainers. Cost: €20 per person, per hour.
Need a 1-on-1 bouldering or strength training session? You can have one with one of our trainers. Cost: € 50 per hour (members receive a 10% discount).

We offer two trial lessons:
- The first is a drop-in lesson on Wednesday afternoon, with an explanation of bouldering and the safety rules.

Children can participate in the lessons from the age of 5. For free bouldering, there is a minimum age of 6, and children up to 12 years old may only climb under the supervision of an adult.
Boemels (5 - 8 jaar)
For our youngest climbers, it's all about fun and discovery. Children learn to climb and scramble in a playful way, working on their self-confidence, motor skills, and basic abilities. From the age of 5, they can join the climbing lessons..
Wagons (9 - 11 years))
In this group, children work more purposefully. They receive lessons in coordination, balance, and climbing technique. There is more focus on collaboration, safety, and building climbing fitness. Play and challenge remain an important part of the lessons..
Loco's (12 - 17 years)
Teenagers in this group develop quickly, both physically and mentally. The focus is on refining technique, building strength, creatively solving routes (the so-called 'bouldering'), and learning to climb independently. They also learn the applicable safety standards, which is a step towards independent sport climbing.
Yes, we also have various memberships for young climbers:
- With a Junior Subscription Climbing Lesson, children can participate in a lesson once a week.
- With a Junior Unlimited Subscription, they can attend lessons more often and also boulder freely, for example before or after the lesson.

In collaboration with Redux (Berjan Bolks), we offer Athletic Skills lessons. These training sessions focus on strength and coordination, based on the principles of ASM. The lessons are ideal for children who want to improve their movement skills alongside their sport, or for those looking for a fun and challenging sports lesson.
Reading moments:
Monday (16:30 - 17:30) – Athletic Skills Class for children aged 9-12, accessible for all levels.
Friday (16:30 - 17:30) – Athletic Skills Development Class for young people aged 12-15, specifically for athletes who are serious about their sport, for example in a local or regional selection.

Do you have a Boulderstation Junior Unlimited Subscription? Then you can join for free! Sign up with your trainer.
Do you want to participate without bouldering with us? You can do this with a regular Junior Subscription for €28 per month, which allows you to attend one lesson per week.
On Mondays and Thursdays, the Boulderstation Comp Team trains. Here, children train who are participating or wish to participate in regional and/or national competitions. These training sessions focus on the individual physical, technical, mental, and personal development of the climber. Participation in Comp training is done in consultation with a coach..
Offer Groups
Certainly! For groups that can boulder independently and have their own climbing shoes, no reservation is needed; you can just walk in. If you are coming with a group that requires instruction lessons and/or climbing shoes, please contact us for more information!
